Donald Peterson Student Travel Award

About this program

The Society of American Archivists Foundation funds the Donald Peterson Student Travel Award to help graduate archival students and recent graduates from North American programs attend the SAA Annual Meeting, providing up to $1,500 toward registration, travel, and accommodation. Applicants must be SAA members in good standing who are currently enrolled in a graduate archival degree program or who graduated in the previous calendar year, and awardees must either present research at the Annual Meeting or actively participate in an SAA-sponsored committee or section. Applications are due annually by February 28 and require a 500-word career-goals essay, an unofficial transcript or copy of the graduate diploma, and two letters of recommendation uploaded by references; selections are made by an SAA subcommittee based primarily on the essay and letters.
