Dr. Richard A. Falls Research Grant Program

The Virginia Lions Eye Institute Foundation’s Dr. Richard A. Falls Research Grant supports research that advances knowledge of eye disease and aims to improve vision and eye health, covering costs to plan, conduct, and present studies for up to one year. A total annual budget of $40,000 is appropriated and awards are made on the merits of submitted proposals; applications should be sent to the Foundation’s Research Grant Committee with an annual deadline of October 25 and applicants notified about two weeks after submission. Eligible applicants include professionals with expertise in eye health such as researchers, physicians, optometrists, opticians, nurses, and public health specialists.
