Early Career Grants

About this program

The Washington Center for Equitable Growth offers Early Career Grants to support policy-relevant research on how inequality affects economic growth, with funding of $15,000 for one year for dissertation-stage graduate students and $30,000 for one to two years for other early career scholars. Eligible applicants must be affiliated with a U.S. university; scholars must be untenured and have received their Ph.D. within the past eight years, while graduate students must be in the dissertation phase. Applications require a personal statement, research proposal, abbreviated CV, and preliminary budget, and projects should demonstrate methodological rigor, actionable policy relevance, and interest in engaging nonacademic audiences. University administration is required, and indirect costs are not allowable.
