Education and Training Grants

About this program

The Neurological Foundation offers Education and Training Grants of up to NZD 20,000 to support seminars, conferences, community education events and advanced training courses in New Zealand or Australia focused on causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and management of nervous system diseases. Funding can cover subsidised registration, travel and childcare, presentation/poster prizes, keynote speaker costs (economy airfares, domestic transfers, accommodation) and resources such as video conferencing and educational materials; budgets must be in NZD and exclude GST. Applications must be submitted by a registered host organisation through the Foundation’s Grants Management System at least eight weeks before the event and include an event programme, itemised quotes and CVs for keynote speakers, with outcomes advised within 20 working days. Ineligible costs include venue/facilities hire, onsite management, furniture hire, catering, support for organising committee/volunteers, alcohol and business-class airfares; successful applicants receive a one-year contract, must acknowledge Foundation support, and submit a final report within three months of the event.
