Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr. Foundation offers grants to support early‑career tenure‑track investigators (years 1–4) with M.D. and/or Ph.D. degrees at U.S. institutions to establish research aimed at securing NIH R01 or equivalent independent funding, providing $75,000 per year for up to three non‑renewable years. Applicants must not currently hold substantial independent research awards (e.g., NIH R01 or equivalent), and institutions are limited to a single submission per cycle. Proposals, due July 1, 2026, must be a single PDF and include a lay summary, a five‑page scientific proposal, NIH‑format biosketch, institutional and collaborator letters, a 3‑year budget with detailed justification (overhead not allowed), and disclosure of all current or pending support. Continued annual payments are contingent on timely progress reports documenting work completed, planned aims, resulting manuscripts and an updated CV; unexpended funds must be returned unless an approved extension is granted and grants are not transferable without prior written consent.
