Emergency Medicine Foundation Directed Research Grants

About this program

The Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) offers Directed Research Grants in partnership with corporations, federal agencies, and professional organizations to fund focused research that advances emergency medicine practice; EMF manages RFP development, solicitation, peer review, award administration, and ensures results are presented at the ACEP Research Forum and submitted for publication. Partner organizations work with EMF to define the research scope and budget and must provide full grant funds plus a 20% administrative fee, but are not permitted to participate in grantee selection. Eligible applicants are members of the emergency medicine research community responding to EMF-issued RFPs; proposals are scored by EMF’s Scientific Review Subcommittee using NIH guidelines and final awards are approved by the EMF Board. Awardees must provide 6-month progress reports to receive the second payment, participate in a grantee workshop, and comply with dissemination and reporting requirements.
