Emerging Leader Award

About this program

The Mark Foundation for Cancer Research offers the Emerging Leader Award to support independent researchers pursuing ambitious, nonincremental projects that open new directions in basic, translational, or clinical cancer research, including hypothesis-driven computational studies. Applicants must have begun an independent position between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2023, with autonomy over research, funding, laboratory space, and personnel. They should have sufficient committed external funding to sustain their laboratory through at least June 2027—generally equivalent to one U.S. R01—and proposals must be individual projects without co-investigators.
