Encompass Health Midcareer Investigator Research Grant

The Foundation for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, supported by Encompass Health, is offering one $25,000 one‑year Midcareer Investigator Research Grant as seed funding for projects that extend an established investigator’s work into new directions in physical medicine and rehabilitation, with preference for proposals aligned with the Foundation’s research priorities; the award will be presented at the AAPM&R Annual Meeting. Applications are due May 1 and must be submitted through the Foundation’s online portal (Submittable); submissions by email, fax, or mail will not be accepted. Eligible applicants are physiatrists or PM&R faculty who are 5–20 years post‑completion of a terminal degree and subsequent training and can demonstrate a history of successful research, and at least one investigator on the team must be an AAPM&R member. Awardees must attend the presentation, commence the project promptly, provide a 12‑month progress update and final programmatic and fiscal reports within 24 months, and report any resulting publications or follow‑on funding to the Foundation.
