About this program
The Welch Foundation funds Endowed Chairs to support faculty positions for outstanding, active research scientists who will advance basic scientific research in chemistry and allied sciences at Texas institutions. Awards are limited to Texas educational institutions that offer a Ph.D. in chemistry, and the institution is generally required to provide a dollar-for-dollar match to the endowment. The host university must select an eminent researcher willing to move to Texas as a full-time faculty member; proposals are accepted on a case-by-case basis and inquiries may be directed to grants@welch1.org.
