Ensuring Fairness in Clinical Assessment RFA

The Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation is funding a 2026 RFA to support demonstration projects that develop, implement, and evaluate innovative strategies to enhance fairness in clinical assessment in medical and nursing education programs. Funded projects must serve as exemplars that center assessment’s purpose—ensuring graduates are prepared to deliver the highest standard of care—and build on consensus recommendations from the Foundation’s 2022 conference on fairness in medical education assessment. Eligible applicants are schools or programs of medicine and nursing proposing rigorous demonstration projects with clear implementation and evaluation plans and potential for wider dissemination; note the LOI submission period has closed.
