About this program

The Foundation offers grants to support development, implementation, and field testing of holistic environmental curricula that integrate field activities with classroom instruction and emphasize basic ecological principles and problem solving. Projects should empower students to engage in environmental and social problem solving, promote thoughtful analysis of the natural world, and train informed decision makers through applied ecological concepts. Funded curricula must be holistic and synthesize facts, concepts, and principles; incorporate experiential, integrated learning and problem solving; be grounded in scientific methods (including hypothesis testing and experimental design); include basic ecological principles and field activities within a primary or secondary school setting; and present controversial issues objectively. Any organization (schools, non‑profits, governmental agencies, etc.) may apply, funds are awarded to organizations not individuals, and the foundation funds projects internationally; no deadline or award amount is specified in this notice.
