Etruscan Foundation Research Fellowship

About this program

The Etruscan Foundation offers a $7,500 Research Fellowship, supported by the Angela Caveness Weisskopf Fund, for archaeological fieldwork, site surveying, collection or museum study, and archival research in Italy focused on Etruscan or indigenous cultures of non-Greek Italy from the Neolithic through the first century BCE. The award supports the fellow’s travel, lodging, meals, and ancillary materials, with additional research expenses requiring other funding sources. Eligible applicants are Canadian or U.S. citizens and individuals affiliated with U.S. institutions who are PhD candidates (ABD), independent PhD researchers, or untenured PhD faculty; Foundation Advisory Board members and adjunct faculty are ineligible. Applications are due March 1 and must include a cover form, CV, two signed recommendation letters, two additional references, a 700-word project description, work plan, bibliography, and budget submitted as PDFs by email.
