Exploratory Research Grants (one-week visits)

About this program

Hagley Museum and Library offers Exploratory Research Grants that provide a $400 stipend and optional low-cost on-site accommodations for one-week visits to evaluate Hagley’s research collections and determine whether to pursue a Henry Belin du Pont research grant; priority is given to junior scholars with innovative projects. Applicants must reside more than 50 miles from Hagley and those using on-site housing are strongly encouraged to have a car. Apply via the online link by one of the recurring deadlines (March 31, June 30, October 31) with a single PDF containing a 150-word abstract, CV, a project description (≤1,000 words) addressing scope and existing scholarship, and a summary (≤500 words) of the Hagley materials to be consulted.
