About this program

The Epilepsy Research Institute is offering Explore Pilot Grant awards to fund small-scale, exploratory and innovative epilepsy research projects, providing up to £40,000 for projects of up to 18 months to cover research costs, equipment, and salaries with the aim of generating preliminary data for larger-scale funding applications. Awards prioritize studies that produce new/preliminary data to enable follow-on funding from the Institute or other funders. Applications are limited to Early Career Researchers and new investigators—defined as no more than eight active research years (full-time or part-time equivalent) after completion of doctoral studies—and senior researchers are encouraged to support ECR-led proposals.
