Gilead Sciences funds independent and collaborative research through multiple programs—Externally Sponsored Research, the Research Scholars Program, and Community‑Based Participatory Research—to support studies on its products or in priority therapeutic areas. Awards may provide grants, study drug, or other support to generate safety, efficacy, tolerability, and knowledge‑building data, with priority topics including HIV, viral hepatitis, oncology, and liver disease; CBPR awards are drug‑agnostic and focus on improving care in underserved communities. Eligible applicants include third‑party investigators and institutions (the Research Scholars Program targets emerging investigators worldwide) and community‑based organizations for CBPR; proposals are solicited via Requests for Proposal or by submitting a Letter of Interest.
