Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Program Round 2

About this program

The California Governor’s Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation offers Round 2 of the Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Program to fund infrastructure projects protecting communities most vulnerable to extreme heat. Early Infrastructure awards range from $750,000 to $1.2 million, while Advanced Infrastructure awards range from $3 million to $4.5 million, with projects prioritized for meaningful benefits to disadvantaged and vulnerable communities. Eligible applicants include local and regional public entities, community-based organizations, public higher education institutions, California Native American Tribes, and coalitions; each application must include a Lead Applicant and at least one Co-Applicant, with no matching funds required. Applicants must submit a Pre-Application Interest Form during one of the designated windows before submitting a Full Application by October 13, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. PST.
