Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund

About this program

Scholarship America, a nonprofit organization, established the Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund to provide educational support to children whose families were directly impacted by the 9/11 attacks and rescue mission. Since 2001, the fund has awarded $190 million to 3,849 students, with ongoing efforts to assist nearly 3,000 more. Eligibility is limited to children whose parent was lost or severely affected by the events of 9/11. The fund relies on donations to sustain its mission, ensuring these students have access to higher education.
