About this program
The AAFP Foundation’s Family Medicine Cares USA program provides grants of up to $25,000 to help new free clinics open, with additional grants of up to $10,000 available to existing clinics serving uninsured patients. Applicants must have an AAFP member in an active leadership role, and new clinics must be opening within six months of the application deadline and have received or be pursuing the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Seal of Excellence. Applications are accepted annually from March 15 through July 15 at 11:59 p.m. CDT and must include the completed budget worksheet and meet the program’s clinic guidelines.
