Fejos Fellowship in Public Media

About this program

The Wenner-Gren Foundation’s Fejos Fellowship in Public Media supports postdoctoral anthropologists completing innovative films, audio works, podcasts, videos, tactile projects, or other multimodal media based on their research and intended for broad public audiences. Awards provide up to $40,000 for a fellowship of up to nine consecutive months, with funding prorated for shorter projects and focused primarily on final-stage production. Applicants must hold a PhD in anthropology or an equivalent degree in socio-cultural, linguistic, biological anthropology, or archaeology and demonstrate a strong connection to the discipline. Proposals must include a feasible media-production plan, ethical and dissemination strategies, and samples of prior work and current project footage or recordings; applicants may have only one application under review and must complete existing Wenner-Gren awards.
