About this program

Mission Cancer Foundation's Financial Assistance Fund provides up to $500 per year to adult cancer patients undergoing active medical oncology treatment in Central Iowa to help cover basic living and treatment-related expenses (rent/mortgage, utilities, telephone, transportation). Applications are accepted online or via printable form (mail, email, fax) and are reviewed on a rolling basis with email notification of determinations. Applicants must be adults receiving active medical oncology care who reside in or receive treatment in one of the program’s specified Central Iowa counties and meet the household income limit of 300% of the Federal Poverty Level (for example, the 2026 cap is $99,000 for a four-person household), and must accept the program’s grant restrictions. Required documentation includes patient information, financial verification (tax return and recent pay stub or Social Security award letter), bills for the expenses needing assistance, and a health statement signed by a member of the medical care team.
