Forensic Pathology Advanced Training Grant

About this program

The CAP Foundation, with support from AAFS, NAME, and the NAME Foundation, offers up to $5,000 for eligible travel and living expenses associated with a four-week forensic pathology rotation at an ACGME-accredited forensic fellowship program between 2027 and the end of Q1 2028. The training provides hands-on experience in forensic pathology, postmortem imaging, toxicology, death investigation, and certification, along with career mentorship. Applicants must be pathology residents actively enrolled in an accredited U.S. or Canadian program and must complete at least one hospital autopsy rotation before the training begins; priority is given to those without an accredited forensic fellowship program within 50 miles of their institution. Applications, including a program director’s endorsement, recommendation, CV, and statements describing the training’s value and planned knowledge-sharing, are due December 14, 2026.
