Forrest Shreve Student Research Fund for Research in the Hot Deserts of North America

About this program

The Ecological Society of America offers the Forrest Shreve Student Research Fund to support ecological research in North America’s hot deserts (Sonoran, Mojave, Chihuahuan, and Vizcaino), funding projects that enhance understanding of desert patterns, processes, and organisms. Eligible applicants are currently enrolled graduate or undergraduate students who are members of ESA. Applicants must submit a one‑page proposal specifying research location and how the award will be used, a CV, a short budget, and a separate reference letter from a supervisor or referee; proposals are evaluated on importance to desert ecology, feasibility, experimental design, innovation, and application quality.
