The Fred and Barbara Erb Family Foundation awards grants to organizations, projects, and individuals that advance a thriving Great Lakes ecosystem, strengthen Detroit’s jazz and arts sectors, grow sustainable business practices in Southeast Michigan, and support democracy through voter engagement, fair election administration, and rule-of-law efforts. Priority activities include community leadership and policy work, watershed and land-use best practices and climate adaptation with environmental justice, Detroit jazz professional development and organizational resilience (emphasis on Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties), and technical assistance/capital for triple-bottom-line small businesses. Eligible applicants are people, organizations, and institutions with projects that align with these geographic and thematic priorities; requests for endowments will not be considered.
