Gene and Jean Herbek Humanitarian Award (CAP Foundation)

About this program

The College of American Pathologists (CAP) Foundation’s Gene and Jean Herbek Humanitarian Award funds community-based projects that expand access to pathology and patient care; recent support financed a part-time patient navigator/community health worker and a children’s activity book for See, Test & Treat events serving underserved Vietnamese women in Dallas–Fort Worth. Funding is intended for initiatives that improve access to diagnostic services, preventive screening, patient navigation and education among vulnerable populations. Applicants must submit a proposal to the CAP Foundation showing how the project aligns with the Foundation’s mission to expand access to pathology and community outreach; recipients are selected based on potential impact and feasibility.
