Community Foundation of Noble County’s Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site Field of Interest Fund supports projects that enhance, preserve, and improve access to the Gene Stratton-Porter State Historic Site in Rome City, Indiana. Eligible uses include maintenance of the Fishing Line Trail (site portion) and related amenities, transportation for school field trips, restoration of the formal gardens and Sower Farmhouse, and Hilltop Drive roadside beautification adjacent to the site. Applicants may include the State Historic Site (via Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites Corporation or successor), local governments and community organizations (e.g., Town of Rome City, Advance Rome City, Noble Trails, Sylvan Lake Improvement Association, Noble County Convention & Visitors Bureau, Noble County Historical Society) or other nonprofit groups serving Noble County; proposals must serve Noble County and are submitted via the Community Foundation’s Grant Apply Portal by November 2, 2026.
