George E. Jonas (GEJ) Scholarships for CRS alumni

About this program

The Louis August Jonas Foundation (LAJF), supported by the Georges Lurcy Trust and donors, administers the George E. Jonas (GEJ) Scholarships to Camp Rising Sun (CRS) alumni pursuing undergraduate, graduate, or PhD study in the United States; awards have historically ranged from about $1,000 to $5,000 and are paid directly to institutions for tuition or college-provided housing/meals. All CRS alumni, including former camp staff, are eligible; selection is based on intellectual ability, character, financial need, camp experience, and promise for advancing CRS values, with the committee typically awarding about five scholarships annually — applications for 2026–27 open in late June 2026 (sign-up available for notifications). LAJF also offers a fellowship for CRS alumni to carry out nonprofit projects that support LAJF’s work; fellows complete 300 hours and receive a $3,000 stipend. Fellowship applicants must be at least 18 years old to apply.
