Golseth Young Investigator Award

About this program

The American Association of Neuromuscular & Electrodiagnostic Medicine (AANEM) annually awards the Golseth Young Investigator Award for the best original research paper in neuromuscular and electrodiagnostic medicine presented by a young physician at the AANEM Annual Meeting; the winner receives travel and lodging (airfare up to $500 U.S./$1,000 international, up to 4 nights), $1,000 cash, free meeting registration, recognition, and abstract publication in Muscle & Nerve (runner-up: $500 and registration). Applicants must be first author, the designated abstract presenter, and present at the AANEM Annual Meeting, and at the time of abstract submission must be a medical student (MD/DO/DVM or foreign equivalent), resident, fellow, or a physician within three years of completing residency or fellowship. Abstracts are submitted annually between January 1 and March 15; the Abstract Review Committee invites up to 10 authors to submit full materials. Invited applicants must provide a 1,200–2,500-word manuscript (text only), a letter specifying percent contribution, and a program director’s letter certifying eligibility; manuscripts must follow Muscle & Nerve guidelines and are preferred to be offered to the journal for first review.
