Graduate Intern Fellowship in Toxicology (GIFT)

About this program

The Society of Toxicology (SOT), via its Education and Experiential Opportunities Committee, offers the Graduate Intern Fellowship in Toxicology (GIFT), awarding one fellowship of up to $3,000 to help cover travel, local housing, or stipend shortfalls for doctoral students pursuing toxicology internships in industry, government, or nonprofit organizations. Internships must be at least six consecutive weeks between May and August and occur outside the applicant’s academic institution; applicants are expected to take full advantage of any host or home-institution funding with SOT funds used only to fill remaining gaps. Eligible applicants are outstanding doctoral students who submit a proposed internship with clear objectives, research/project goals, career-development activities, and methodologies to be learned, plus letters of support from the graduate advisor and director of graduate studies and documentation of host acceptance (or a host statement if acceptance is pending). Application deadline: February 15; the EEOC will prioritize proposals that clearly articulate internship and career-development plans.
