Graduate Student Paper Award (Archaeological Institute of America)

About this program

The Archaeological Institute of America offers the Graduate Student Paper Award to recognize outstanding original research presented by predoctoral students at the AIA Annual Meeting; the prize includes a certificate, complimentary registration, and two nights’ hotel to attend the following year’s meeting. Applicants must be graduate (predoctoral) students with a paper accepted by the Annual Meeting Program Committee and must self-nominate by indicating eligibility on the Open Session Submission Form. Entrants submit an anonymous full written paper and accompanying images as separate PDF files by email (follow formatting instructions) by December 1, 2026; co-authored papers are permitted only if all authors are students, and submissions are judged on originality, concision, and delivery with the presentation required to match the submitted paper.
