Green Pastures Fund

About this program

Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation’s Green Pastures Fund, created by an anonymous donor, provides grants (typically $1,000–$3,000, up to $3,000) to preserve and promote small, community-based agricultural ventures such as CSAs, farmers’ markets, urban gardens, scholarships, internships, cooperative programs, grantwriting, and marketing; $10,000 is available this cycle. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations or public entities located in the Berkshire Taconic region (Berkshire, Columbia, Northeast Dutchess, Northwest Litchfield); unincorporated community groups may apply using a fiscal sponsor. Projects may be new or ongoing but cannot receive funding for more than three consecutive years; preference is given to proposals demonstrating additional funding or in-kind support, applications are reviewed by anonymous fund advisors and the foundation board, and the deadline is February 15, 2026.
