Gund Harrington Scholar Award

About this program

The Gund Harrington Scholar Award, offered through the Harrington Scholars program, supports innovative translational research to prevent, treat, or cure blindness from inherited retinal degenerative diseases by selecting up to three scholars annually and providing milestone-driven, three-year grants totaling up to $900,000 plus drug development, commercialization, regulatory and IP support. Proposals should describe breakthrough discoveries with clear potential for clinical impact and commercialization; acceptable modalities include small molecules, biologics, gene-modifying therapies, regenerative cell therapies and other broadly applicable treatment strategies. Diagnostics or devices are only considered if integral to a therapeutic development program or truly transformative, and applicants must demonstrate a strong intellectual property strategy and development readiness.
