Gus Poesch Research Funding at The Ohio State University

About this program

The American Floral Endowment’s Gus Poesch Research Fund provides about $40,000 annually to support floriculture activities at The Ohio State University, including graduate student recruitment, graduate research and travel, start‑up costs for early‑career floriculture faculty, and educational travel. Eligible applicants are Ohio State faculty and floriculture students; projects may run one to three years and multi‑institution teams are allowed with a designated team leader. Applications (due August 1 each year) must be submitted electronically and include a completed form, up to a 3‑page project description, letter of endorsement, timetable, a detailed budget with no overhead, scientific approach and brief literature review; preliminary data is desirable and student travel requests are limited to $1,500 with a copy of the abstract. Funded awards require annual progress reports for multi‑year projects, a final report within 60 days of completion, acknowledgment of AFE in publications/presentations, and industry dissemination; questions/app issues to cmusgrove@afeendowment.org.
