SAH Sally Kress Tompkins Fellowship

About this program

The Society of Architectural Historians (SAH) offers the Sally Kress Tompkins Fellowship to support a graduate student’s 12-week summer HABS history project documenting a significant U.S. building or site for the Library of Congress’s permanent collection. The fellowship provides a $12,000 stipend, with the recipient required to produce a written history and upload 10–50 project images to the SAHARA archive. Applicants must be SAH members pursuing graduate studies in architectural history or a related field and submit a cover letter, CV, transcript, writing sample, and recommendation letter. Applications for the 2027 fellowship open October 1, 2026, and are due December 31, 2026.
