Hampsong Education Fellowship in American Song

About this program

The Society for American Music offers the Hampsong Education Fellowship in American Song, awarding up to $1,000 to support educators who develop curricular or co‑curricular projects that illuminate American history and culture through song. Projects must make use of the Song of America database, Voices Across Time, or other primary American-song resources and may include print or online curricular materials, performances with associated curricula, collaborative ventures, lecture‑recitals, or illustrated performances. Eligible applicants include educators in the humanities and social sciences—K–12 teachers (including home‑schoolers), graduate students in education, college and university faculty, museum specialists, performers, and others who teach the public about American song—with Voices Across Time–trained teachers especially encouraged to apply. Applications require an application form, project description (≤500 words), plan of work with timetable (≤500 words), detailed budget, and one educator reference; recipients must submit a one‑page budget and a final report within one year, and the announcement lists an October 15 deadline.
