Harry Frank Guggenheim African Fellow Awards

About this program

The Harry Frank Guggenheim Foundation offers two-year African Fellow Awards to emerging scholars conducting high-quality research on the causes, manifestations, or control of violence directly related to Africa. Awards include a $10,000 fieldwork research grant, methods training, mentoring, conference sponsorship, and publication support. Applicants may be citizens of any country but must be 45 or younger, enrolled in an accredited Ph.D. program at an African higher-education institution, and living on the continent. Proposals are welcomed from the social and natural sciences or allied disciplines, particularly research with relevance to reducing urgent problems of violence and aggression.
