IAGLR Scholarship

About this program

The International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR) awards up to two annual scholarships—typically US$2,000 plus complimentary IAGLR membership and electronic Journal of Great Lakes Research subscription—to support Ph.D. dissertation research that significantly advances understanding of large lakes; winners are announced and expected to present at IAGLR's annual Conference on Great Lakes Research. Applicants must be current IAGLR members and Ph.D. students proposing research relevant to large lakes; previous recipients, current IAGLR Board members, and immediate family of board members are ineligible. Applications require an online student form, brief title and extended abstract, statement of relevance, CV, unofficial transcripts, and a PDF endorsement letter from the major professor sent directly to scholarships@iaglr.org; selections are judged on academic excellence, scientific merit, originality, presentation, and contribution to understanding large lakes.
