IAMG Student Research Grants (C&G, MG, NRR)

About this program

The International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG), co‑sponsored by Elsevier, offers annual student research grants linked to its three journals—Computers & Geosciences (four awards), Mathematical Geosciences (three awards) and Natural Resources Research (two awards)—each award being US$2,500 to support early‑career postgraduate, doctoral and post‑doctoral research aligned with the journals' Aims & Scope. Applications are submitted online via the IAMG website using a single form (selecting one journal) and must be received by 31 May each year; winners are notified before the IAMG annual conference. Applicants must be postgraduate/PhD/post‑doctoral researchers and provide a project description (motivation, relation to state‑of‑the‑art, objectives, and relevance to thesis), supervisor contact and letter, and a detailed budget. Funds may not be used for conference travel, open‑access charges, conference registration or tuition; payments include a US$500 holdback released only after submission of an abstract and full report by 30 September of the following year, and any resulting papers must be offered to the respective journal for first refusal.
