IDEA+ Workshop Award

About this program

The International Association for Great Lakes Research (IAGLR) offers the IDEA+ Workshop Award to fund workshops that broaden participation by historically marginalized communities and bring diverse perspectives to the IAGLR Conference on Great Lakes Research across science, management, education, communication, policy, outreach, and community. Up to two awards of US $2,000 each may be granted (subject to available funds), and recipients receive complimentary IAGLR membership including an electronic subscription to the Journal of Great Lakes Research. Eligible applicants are individuals or groups proposing to host a workshop at the IAGLR annual conference who have not previously received the award and are not current IAGLR Board members or immediate family of current board members. Applications are submitted online and must include contact details, IAGLR member status, affiliation, workshop title and description, intended audience, a 150-word plan to recruit a diverse audience, and an abstract; proposals are evaluated on integration of large-lake topics, relevance to inclusion goals, and applicant involvement, and awardees must agree to host the workshop at the conference.
