About this program

The SIR Foundation offers up to $25,000 for 12 months to support planning and development of clinical research projects advancing interventional radiology and patient care. Funds may be used to develop clinical study protocols, federal or industry funding proposals, or study operations and training materials; data collection and study conduct are not supported. Applicants must be SIR members in good standing with an MD, DO, PhD, or equivalent degree, and must be U.S. or Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Applicants may not have already secured at least $250,000 in major funding for the proposed study or be current SIR/SIR Foundation leaders or principal investigators with an active Foundation grant; applications are due January 15, 2027.
