About this program
IREX’s Individual Advanced Research Opportunities (IARO) program supports policy-relevant research by scholars and professionals in Eastern Europe and Eurasia, offering awards of up to $30,000 for research lasting two to nine months in as many as three countries. Funding includes round-trip international airfare, visa assistance, living and housing allowances, emergency evacuation insurance, and access to IREX field-office resources. Applicants must be U.S. citizens who are enrolled in a graduate degree program or hold a graduate degree at the time of application, with all materials submitted online by November 14.
