About this program

The Skin of Color Society (SOCS) Institutional Research Fellowship Grant supports institution-based fellowships that fund early-career physicians to conduct clinical, translational, and observational research on dermatologic diseases in skin of color and to prepare for leadership in clinical care, policy, and research; awards provide up to $40,000 to an institution to support one fellow for up to one year. Applicant institutions must commit to hosting an early-career physician fellow and ensure the fellow is a U.S. worker (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee, asylee) or holds an employment-authorized U.S. visa. Grant funds are paid to the institution and may be used only for the fellow’s salary and benefits (no overhead/indirect costs), and any fellow time supported by the grant may not be billed as patient care; applications open October 2026.
