International Collaboration Award

About this program

Division 54 (Society of Pediatric Psychology) offers the International Collaboration Award to support SPP members visiting an international research or clinical program (minimum one week, typically up to one month, longer with rationale) to pursue a specific pediatric psychology research project or acquire training; the award provides up to $4,000 USD for travel and accommodation. Eligible applicants are current postgraduate clinical/pediatric psychology trainees, PhD trainees (or equivalent), postdoctoral fellows, or early-career faculty (within five years of first appointment); both applicant and mentor must be SPP members, the host organization must approve the visit, applicants may not have received this award in the past five years, and mentors must not have served as host for this award within the past two years. Applications (PDF) — including checklist, 2-page proposal, CVs, letters of support from home and host/mentor, budget, and mentor support letter — should be submitted to Rocio de la Vega by mid-October (application header lists Oct 16; instructions state Oct 15); selections are reviewed by two SPP International Committee representatives and applicants are notified by mid-December. Awardees must submit a feedback form, a one-page report and an article for Progress Notes within one month of the visit, acknowledge the award in resulting products, and mentor involvement must demonstrate ongoing commitment; only one awardee is selected per academic year.
