ISN Educational Ambassadors Program

About this program

The International Society of Nephrology (ISN) offers the Educational Ambassadors Program to fund up to four-week visits by ISN ambassadors to renal centers for expert guidance and hands‑on training in areas such as dialysis, interventional nephrology, renal pathology, transplantation and peritoneal dialysis, aimed at improving clinical care, staff capacity, and community-based research or screening. Ambassadors provide clinical and research advice, support measurable improvements in patient quality of life and survival, and long‑term mentorship and use of ISN Academy resources are encouraged. Eligible applicants are ISN-member renal centers located in World Bank-defined lower, lower‑middle, or upper‑middle income countries; applications are accepted year‑round but should be submitted 3–6 months before the planned visit. Applications via the ISN online platform must include training purpose and measurable outcomes, a joint training plan and visit duration, a budget proposal (no standard award amount specified), CV(s) of expert(s), and ethics/patient consent documents where applicable, and are reviewed by ISN staff and the Educational Ambassadors Committee.
