Jessie Bernard Outstanding Research Proposal from a Feminist Perspective

The National Council on Family Relations offers the Jessie Bernard Outstanding Research Proposal Award to recognize rigorous feminist family scholarship that examines biases and systems of privilege and oppression in family science and society. The recipient receives $750 for research, up to $350 in travel support, up to $95 toward NCFR Annual Conference registration, and a plaque, and must present project findings at the following conference. Applicants must be graduate students or new professionals within five years of completing a doctorate; NCFR or FFS Section membership is not required. Applications due May 22 must include an anonymized, five-page proposal, abstract of no more than 100 words, references, budget, and cover letter.
