John and Nancy Nations Scholarship Fund

About this program

The Community Foundation of Central Georgia administers the John and Nancy Nations Scholarship Fund, awarding one $2,000 scholarship annually to Georgia residents who plan to attend a United Methodist Seminary or Asbury Theological Seminary and pursue ordination as United Methodist ministers. Established in memory of John and Nancy Nations, the fund supports master's-level seminary students on the elder or deacon path and selects recipients based on demonstrated financial need, potential to succeed, and commitment to community and family life; prior recipients may renew the award for up to four years if eligibility is maintained. Applicants must be Georgia residents, active United Methodist Church members for at least one year, enrolled full-time (or part-time while working part-time) at a qualifying seminary, and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0; required materials include a career essay, a short family/personal paragraph, resume, transcripts, and a headshot or family photo.
