John and Roberta Graziano Fellowship

About this program

The Society for American Music offers the John and Roberta Graziano Fellowship to support scholarly research on music connected to the United States in the long nineteenth century and other music performed in North America during that period; no more than one award is made each year and funding varies with endowment interest up to $2,000. Applicants must be members in good standing of the Society for American Music; projects that have previously received SAM fellowship support are ineligible, and preference is given to early-career scholars when merit is equal. Required materials are an application form plus a one-page letter of application with contact information, current full CV, a narrative (no more than five double-spaced pages) describing the project and need for funding, and a one-page project budget. The recipient must submit a one-page final budget and a final report to the SAM Executive Director within one year; deadline listed as October 15 (year not specified).
