The Jonathan T.Y. Yeh Award for Student Scholarship in Asian and Asian American Folklore was formerly offered by the American Folklore Society’s Transnational Asia/Pacific section, with sponsorship from Dr. Nora Yeh, to support emerging scholars’ research, publication, and participation in the Society. Award recipients presented their work at the section’s meeting during the AFS annual conference; the prize was awarded from 2010 through 2017 and is no longer current. Historically, eligibility focused on undergraduate and graduate students in the early stages of their careers, particularly AFS members conducting advanced research on Asian or Asian American folklore. Current funding is offered through the section’s Saboohi I. Khan Award.
