The Jordan Schnitzer Book Award, funded by the Harold & Arlene Schnitzer Family Fund of the Oregon Jewish Community Foundation, honors exceptional scholarly contributions in Jewish Studies across four categories: Biblical Studies, Rabbinics, and Ancient Jewish History and Culture; Jews and the Arts; Modern Jewish History; and Social Sciences, Anthropology, and Folklore. Winners receive $10,000, and finalists receive $2,500. Eligibility is limited to books published in 2022 or 2023 by members of the Association for Jewish Studies (AJS) that align with the specified categories. This award aims to foster academic excellence and innovation in Jewish Studies research.
