Breakthrough T1D’s Kellogg Family Early‑Career Patient‑Oriented Diabetes Research Award provides up to $200,000 per year (total costs, including up to 10% indirect costs) to support patient‑oriented type 1 diabetes clinical research training and transition to independent faculty or research appointments; eligible projects include human subjects research (interventional or observational trials, biosample/data analysis) and psychosocial/behavioral studies. Applicants are typically clinicians (MD, MD‑PhD, DO, or PsyD) holding a subspecialty appointment who received their first faculty‑level appointment within the past five years, though exceptional non‑MD candidates may be considered; a full‑time accredited‑institution sponsor who will provide a training plan is required. Submit full applications via RMS360 with a research plan (max 12 pages), a 2‑page future career statement, a 4‑page sponsor training plan, three confidential references, and institutional assurance; awardees must devote ≥75% effort to T1D clinical research and submit annual progress reports.
