Kornfeld Foundation Grants (Civic Engagement & Arts Education)

About this program

Kornfeld Foundation provides rolling, flexible grants—including multi-year and general operating support—to New York City nonprofits advancing civic engagement (policy advocacy, organizing, movement-building, community service and related technical assistance) or arts education that develops creativity in youth enrolled in NYC Public Schools. Funding is intended to be catalytic and prioritize work serving vulnerable and marginalized communities; capital or endowment campaigns are not eligible. Applicants must be nonprofit organizations based in New York City and submit complete electronic proposals (board reviews three times per year) including organizational mission/history/structure/finances, organizational budgets and most recent audited financials; project requests also require a project description with goals, timeline, evaluation plan and project budget. First-time applicants are encouraged to send a 2–3 page letter of introduction to office@kornfeldfdn.org; the foundation may request meetings or invite full proposals.
